Discover the vestiges of Antiquity or the Middle Ages, the medieval tower, the remains of the Cordeliers Convent, the Grille park, the Auberge des frères Pâris, the Saint Pierre Church… and set off to discover the rich heritage of Moirans.
Moirans can be discovered through monuments that evoke important moments in our history. From the Gallo-Roman era when Morginum (Moirans) was crossed by a Roman road, to the industrial revolution which gave the town a new boom, there are sections of history that are open to discovery.
Including the Church of Saint Peter (the last vestige of the Priory of Saint Peter, currently the subject of archaeological excavations), adorned with stained-glass windows by Arcabas; the former Cordeliers Convent (the first Franciscan convent founded in Dauphiné in 1220); and the former inn of the Pâris brothers (an illustrious Dauphiné family who were influential in the world of finance during the time of the Regent and then Louis XV), with the Parc de la Grille, a true haven of tranquility, and the medieval tower, a vestige of the medieval fortifications.
