A journey through European agricultural regions, this film adds a bitter taste to what we have on our tables every day. Our daily fruits and vegetables come from the exploitation of human beings.

Synopsis: In southern Italy, Seydou, originally from Mali, picks oranges. He has no contract and is paid by the crate of oranges harvested. He lives in a hut he built himself in a camp without water or electricity.
The Pickers is a journey through several European agricultural regions: 1 million migrants work in Europe's fields. Pickers are the mobile workforce that fills our supermarket baskets. They move from one harvest field to another.
Oranges in Italy, blueberries in Portugal, olives in Greece, strawberries in Spain: wherever we go, it's often migrants who harvest our fruits and vegetables. Most of them don't have contracts or a minimum wage; some are illegal immigrants or have incurred heavy debts to agents.
