Between the 11th and 14th centuries, the skyline bristled with towers and walls. Designed to defend a city, monitor a strategic point, or embody a lord's power, fortifications shaped the landscape of the Middle Ages.

Motte, rocca, fortified town or built-up area thus outline the history of the territory that today covers the Pays Voironnais. The exhibition invites you to take to the heights, from the banks of Lake Paladru to the mountain peaks, passing through the Isère Valley, to discover these medieval remains.

Exhibition designed in partnership with the Pays d’art et d’histoire.
