About Us
As part of our "Family" exhibition, we present this film by Daniel Schlosser. Is the 21st-century child, cut off from nature, condemned against their will to a world reducible to the walls of the bedroom and the classroom?
In reaction to "outdoor" education and inspired by Scandinavian practices, teachers across France have decided to "take children outside." The approach of the Mancenans public primary school in the Doubs region is part of this "green revolution in education." Throughout the year, every Tuesday, regardless of the weather, Elise Sergent, a pioneering teacher in France, holds classes in the forest and challenges traditional teaching methods. During a study trip to Denmark, Elise confirmed that outdoors, in contact with the real world, children develop a significant part of their relationship to their bodies, their senses, their intelligence, and life itself.
