For half a century, the citizen-musicians of Sebatu, first noticed for their ceremonial music, have extended their repertoire to play on European stages, alongside Pierre Boulez at the Aix-en-Provence festival or at the Palais Garnier.
This show is an opportunity to rediscover the Kebyar style of the XNUMXth century, virtuoso "competition" music that gave birth to a style of dance that is both androgynous and entirely musical abstraction. The second part, with a different instrumentation, presents the famous Legong Kraton (royal ballet) “Lasem”, where the masks and the choreographed chorus lead us into a mythical story, between self-transcendence and cosmic resonance. Musical virtuosity, marriage of timbres, spellbinding dance make this performance an unforgettable journey.
