A woman recounts her years of hitchhiking through distant, sometimes dangerous countries. She describes what it's like to travel as a woman, someone who chose to take that risk so she wouldn't be ashamed of being alive. Ten years later, she reflects on that experience.
A woman recounts her years of hitchhiking through distant, sometimes dangerous, countries. She describes what it's like to travel as a woman, a woman who chose to take that risk so she wouldn't be ashamed of being alive. Ten years later, she remembers the kindness one receives when trusting others, when saying "yes" to every vehicle that stops. She cherishes the camaraderie with her best companions on the road: truckers. It is with this prologue that "Beau comme un camion" (Beautiful Like a Truck) opens, a performance paying tribute to truckers, to their unconditional love of the road and its landscapes, to their pride in being travelers despite the increasing hardship of a profession caught up in the intensification of global trade.
