As part of the 2025 Livres à Vous Festival, come and discover the theater show They Don't Deserve Your Tears by the Atelier Théâtre Actuel with Thomas Snégaroff, at the Grand Angle.

It all started with a photo that went viral. Elizabeth Eckford, alone, pursued by a racist horde. It was September 4, 1957, in Little Rock, Arkansas, a back-to-school season marked by the end of school segregation. The nine Black children enrolled at Little Rock Central High School, previously reserved for whites only, were surrounded by a hysterical crowd.

Thomas Snégaroff, a journalist and historian specializing in the United States, tells this story on stage. Clarinetist Xavier Bussy accompanies him with period pieces.

Music and lyrics combine to tell this compelling story about a fight for human rights. A play that questions the concept of coexistence and immerses us in an America that is both fascinating and terrifying.
