Spectacle musical : Monopolis, un monde Stone
Salle du Carré d'Ars 116 route de Virieu Le Pin 38850 Villages du lac de Paladru
About Us
“Monopolis, un monde stone” is an original creation, inspired by the Rock Opera by Michel Berger and Luc Plamondon, performed by 5 musicians and 12 singer-actors who explore the excesses of a society obsessed with image, power & celebrity.
The scenes unfold in the seedy underbelly of the Underground Café, run by waitress Marie-Jeanne, who dreams only of freedom and the great outdoors. She's in love with Ziggy, who is only attracted to boys and dreams of becoming a famous singer. She watches the news on her television, presented by Roger-Roger, and shows like Starmania, hosted by Cristal. She also watches the scenes playing out before her eyes between Sadia the revolutionary and a gang of thugs, the Black Stars, led by Johnny Rockfort.
At the top of the Golden Tower, bathed in light, lives the richest man in the Western world, Zero-January, who wishes to marry, for electoral purposes, Stella Spotlight, a depressed star contemplating suicide…
These two worlds will collide when the revolutionaries attempt to overthrow the government.
Between love, struggle, sacrifice and the quest for freedom, “Monopolis, a stone world” tells the intertwined destinies of characters caught in the spotlight of a world without landmarks.
Following the success of their show "Anarkh, Notre Dame de Paris 1482," which ran for four performances and drew an average of 350 spectators per show with enthusiastic and encouraging feedback, the Paladru Musical Association presents this musical piece for 2026, inspired by the rock opera "Starmania." The production features experienced musicians and passionate actor-singers. All the participants in this project are volunteers and live in the area between Voiron, Belley, and Saint Jean de Bournay.
For each performance, we work with a professional sound and lighting provider.
Refreshment and catering on site.
