About Us
Wander around or follow the flash tours to discover the museum's collections and the new temporary exhibition until the night is as dark as the abyss.
Boats Underwater. Archaeology of Submerged Sites, new temporary exhibition from May 22, 2026 to January 3, 2027.
From the myth of sunken cities to contemporary research techniques, discover underwater archaeology. Follow archaeologists as they explore shipwrecks through each stage, from prospecting to preservation and development, including the study and protection of heritage.
Then enter the murky waters of the Rhône in the footsteps of the shipwreck of an ancient merchant vessel and discover its story.
To conclude your aquatic journey, stories and archive images of canoes and objects from the excavations of Lake Paladru invite you to (re)immerse yourself in 5,000 years of history.
Like a scientific expedition, the exhibition reveals the methods and techniques applied to the study of archaeological heritage submerged in the waters of seas, lakes or rivers.
