I accuse Sylvie Joly of having been one of my greatest inspirations by paving the way for women alone in the comedy scene. I accuse Sylvie Joly of having burned the boards and of having slipped the box of matches into my pocket. I accuse Sylvie Joly of having believed in her dreams and of having defied family and education to become a child of the ball leading me to follow her extravagances.
I accuse him of having set the bar very high by aiming for excellence with insolence, talent, precision, demands, generosity and irresistible humor. I accuse Sylvie Joly of having exerted her influence to the point of pushing me to self-sequester myself in my teenage bedroom. For whole days I would declaim “Catherine” and “the letter to Johnny” while young people my age went out, listened to music and experienced their first great romantic emotions. I accuse him of having ruined my youth by making me look out of date.
At the stand, a few characters played by Sylvie Joly will take the stand as witnesses for the prosecution but also relatives, intimates, experts from the prosecution and the defense.
The sketches will fuel the debates, they will be included in the show as evidence, food for thought, damning evidence.
