Beautiful 1908th century Romanesque building still located on the heights of the old town, surrounded by its cemetery. The old church became a necropolis in the middle of the XNUMXth century before being classified as a historical monument in XNUMX.

Standing in the middle of the cemetery, the former parish church of Saint-Didier ceased to be used for parish worship after the construction of the new neo-Gothic church in the last quarter of the 19th century. Both in its architectural features—a basilica plan with a triple nave of the hall type, vaulted, with arcades resting on compound piers, a regular crossing with a dome on squinches surmounted by the bell tower—and in the diversity of its sculpted capitals, this church, datable to the mid-12th century, appears unparalleled in the surrounding region. Its imposing four-tiered bell tower is justly renowned, although poorly dated, since the two upper levels, usually presented as Romanesque, are probably no earlier than the 17th century. The radical and rather intrusive restoration carried out on the building in 1863 unfortunately greatly diminished its archaeological significance.
