Les Jardins de la Curiosité partagée
A pond, beehives, insect hotels, a diverse hedge for the enjoyment of birds, fruit trees, vegetable gardens: this is what it takes to offer everyone the experience of regained biodiversity.
Site classified as an LPO Refuge and committed to respecting and protecting biodiversity.
Come and discover the children's garden:
It is a place for observing biodiversity, the pond where many small animals live, including frogs with tasty calls, insect hotels, educational beehives that produce Bilieu honey.
It is a place where you can garden: a space is dedicated to children to plant, sow, watch grow and harvest.
It is a place where they can play: wooden games have been installed for them and the school organizes orienteering races there.
Part of the site is reserved for amateur gardeners who wish to cultivate a vegetable garden, either individually or on a shared plot. As the Regards Billantins association has ceased its activities, the operation of these gardens needs to be rethought… If you are interested, please contact us!
The fruit trees: apple trees, pear trees, cherry trees, small red fruits, quince trees, vines… all of this produces beautiful and good fruits to share, picked by passers-by but also for the school children who make compotes from them.
A family-friendly place that can be reached on foot: to get there, a pedestrian path starts from the town centre.
Where you can spend good sporting and gourmet moments: opposite the children's games, there are fitness equipment for adults and picnic tables.
The LPO refuge
The town council recently approved the application for the "My Establishment is an LPO Refuge" designation for the Gardens of Shared Curiosity. This designation from the League for the Protection of Birds (LPO) is part of a national program for preserving biodiversity and promoting local nature. It aims to highlight spaces that preserve and develop biodiversity while offering people a high quality of life. The Gardens of Shared Curiosity are eligible for this label because they provide habitats for wild fauna and flora in the pond, beehives, insect hotels, berry bushes, vegetable gardens, and more.
By joining this program, the municipality commits to continuing the process of enhancing and improving natural heritage, and to carrying out concrete actions with the LPO.
Educational workshops will be conducted with schoolchildren, continuing the work already done. Nesting boxes for tits and tawny owls will be installed soon.
