Musée de la Grande Chartreuse

La Grande Chartreuse, founded by Saint Bruno in 1084, is an unmissable destination. If the monastery remains a place of prayer, the museum enlightens you on the life of the monks withdrawn in solitude and silence.

In the heart of the Chartreuse massif, located in the Correrie, the former living space of the Carthusian brothers, the Grande Chartreuse museum presents a reflection of Carthusian life.
Explore the Carthusian monasteries of Europe and admire their unique architecture. Discover the daily life of the Carthusian monks and their history from Saint Bruno to the present day.

Our monastery shop welcomes you to discover products from the Carthusian monks as well as those from other monastic communities.
