Parc du Domaine Saint Jean de Chépy
Like the estate and its 13th-century castle, the park bears witness to the passage of people and their various activities over the centuries. This is evident in the restored 18th-century Orangery and the 19th-century Beylier turbine, powered by the canal, a vestige of the area's industrial activity and still in operation today.
Crisscrossed by streams, ponds, and rivers, it also shelters a very diverse fauna, which has earned it the status of an LPO (League for the Protection of Birds) biodiversity refuge. As a protected natural area, it illustrates the Domaine's commitment to sustainable development with the installation of a company apiary, melliferous trees, and an orchard.
Thanks to this synergy between nature, art and heritage, the Domaine's park aims to become a place of disconnection and well-being, for businesses and individuals alike.
The first biodiversity refuge for businesses in Isère!
The Domaine is, above all:
a 10-hectare park
a protected natural area
an area protected by the French Buildings Authority
streams, rivers and ponds
Step by step, we have implemented concrete and high-quality actions that accumulate and become fully coherent:
2014: creation of a shared apiary (corporate sponsorship)
2014: The park on the estate was awarded the "LPO" (League for the Protection of Birds) Biodiversity Refuge label – 5-year agreement
2015: creation of an organic vegetable garden with "Les Jardins du Prado"
a link between Art and Nature with ArtChépy and the creation of the following works:
2014: The Nest
2015: The insect hotel
2016: The "black hole" footbridge
2018: Installation of 20 "log hives" from the Cévennes region, hollowed out of chestnut trees – planting of melliferous trees
