Prieuré de Chirens
Rare 11th century Romanesque church listed as a Historic Monument, open to visitors and hosting one of the oldest Chamber Music Festivals in France, free concerts and temporary exhibitions of contemporary art.
Restored in 1964 by the artist Roger Lorin, the church has since been dedicated to the plastic arts and music.
The international festival is one of the oldest chamber music festivals in France and allows you to hear, in this place with exceptional acoustics, the best French and international ensembles (full program on the website).
Finally, the site of the Romanesque Priory from the XNUMXth century, decorated with frescoes and classified as a Historic Monument, can be visited (free or guided visit for groups by appointment).
Free concerts are given by the older pupils of the conservatories of the region, during the Sundays of the Priory.
Group visits include a guided tour and video about the monks of Ganagobie and Tamié. Breakfast is provided before 11:00 AM for group visits. Seminar room available.
Possibility of a combined visit in one day with a guided tour of Lake Paladru by sailboat, organised by SPAC.
