The Marais de la Véronnière, Sensitive Natural Area, is located at the northern end of Lac de Paladru, it is a true vital annex to the lake. It is made up of a mosaic of wooded areas (alder groves along the Courbon and willow groves along the lake).
Discover this Sensitive Natural Area along a 1 km route marked out by 4 stations to discover the remarkable flora and fauna of the site.
Located upstream of the lake, at the point fed by the Courbon stream and several springs, the marsh is the only significant riparian wetland on the lake. It plays a vital functional role in the hydrology (regulation, water purification) and in providing habitat and feeding grounds for migratory and nesting birds and for fish populations (pike, roach).
It forms a transition zone between the agricultural valley and the open water aquatic environment and brings to the landscape quality of this large alpine lake an original wild tone which reinforces the image of its great archaeological sites.
The marsh areas are also home to a remarkable heritage flora.
