Au fil de l'Ainan vers le Sacré Coeur
St-Bueil, perched on its rocky promontory, inevitably catches the eye. Approach this "great rock" closely before following the shaded banks of the Ainan, which once brought prosperity to the valley thanks to its mills and weaving workshops.
The route continues up the rolling plateau of St-Martin de Vaulserre, then leads to the statue of the Sacred Heart. Erected by parishioners at the end of the 19th century, it offers a view of the Guiers Valley and the Bugey region. The return journey follows the Sauge ridge, where you can enjoy one last panoramic view before descending through the woods along the old mule track, leading back peacefully to the starting village.
