La boucle de Parménie

Take to the skies and overlook the Isère valley with views of the Vercors and the Chartreuse, passing from the belvederes to the undergrowth, and up to the optional round trip to the former charterhouse of the nuns of Parmenie .

Go to Tullins, at the foot of the Chambarans hills and in the heart of the walnut groves where the production of walnuts is queen. The start of the hike is in front of the town hall "le Clos des Chartreux", one of the most beautiful in the department of Isère. From there, you quickly reach the belvedere of the same name, where the landscape stretches from Savoie to Drôme with the Isère valley emerging from the Alps, the Chartreuse and Vercors massifs in the background. Above, the slopes, which alternate small clearings and woods, are a bit breathless but lead to the Col de Parménie where the view takes on even more height. From the pass, after the ascent to the Bois du Four, you advance on open and airy heights before reaching the picturesque hamlet of Eslinard on a small flat area. The descent continues under the cover of trees in the Rival valley. You enter Tullins passing by the remains of the medieval castle (tower) and the old streets of the old town, and its XNUMXth century Hôtel-Dieu. You will reach the arboretum of the Parc du Clos des Chartreux and its rare trees…
