Le lac de Saint Sixte

A beautiful hike through woods, clearings, and ponds. Varied landscapes and a peaceful atmosphere await you. A bucolic loop that leads you along the charming Lake Saint Sixte, nestled in dense vegetation.

On your way back to the hamlet, you'll see the modest Romanesque crypt, built on the remains of an ancient 4th-century Roman temple. Protected behind a gate, it is inaccessible, but its mysterious presence invites contemplation: according to legend, women used to come here to rub their stomachs against the columns in the hope of becoming pregnant.

The route crosses various natural areas (La Davière, La Mérie), taking you to Massieu, one of the oldest villages in Valdaine.
