Le lac vu d’en haut, sur les traces de l’an Mil

History, culture and heritage

After admiring the lake from its heights, discover the exceptional remains discovered under the waters of the lake at the Archaeological Museum of Lake Paladru (MALP)!

Admiring Lake Paladru from the heights is no easy feat, as it's nestled in its ancient glacial valley. This short hike is one of the few routes offering a breathtaking view. Gain some altitude after a dip in the MALP!

Once past the hamlet of Sonnière, the view quickly opens up, leading to the Chapel of the Three Crosses, well worth a visit with its orientation table and views of the Chartreuse mountains, and even Mont Blanc on a clear day. At a place called Le Paradis, the lake comes into view once more before continuing on to the Bois de la Grande Rivoire and then back to the lake shore for a well-deserved relaxing break.
