Around Paladru Lake

This great tour of Lac de Paladru special electric bicycle, is offered from Charavines. Rich in heritage discoveries, it offers remarkable views and allows you to walk along the lake on its eastern shore.

Mainly on small, uncrowded country roads, the first pedal strokes take you to the wooded valley of Combettes and its hairpin which will take you to Verney on the Oyeu plateau. After crossing the departmental road (central median, but stay vigilant!), A comfortable dirt road will take you to the old Carthusian monastery of Sylve Bénite and its tithe barn in a beautiful landscape of meadows on the edge of the forest . Having crossed the hamlet of Chassigneux and the village of Le Pin (café, bakery), the route goes up the bucolic valley of the Pin brook (dirt road after leaving the village) to Valencogne. After passing the beautiful Vivier pond, you stroll on the panoramic heights. Judge how little: Mont Blanc, the Bauges massifs, Chartreuse, Belledone enliven the horizon. The descent that follows quickly brings you back to St-Pierre de Paladru to cross the Courbon, a stream that leads to the lake. You then join the green lane at Chemin de la Véronnière and then the Véronnière picnic area in the town of Montferrat. The protected route runs along the blue lake to Charavines via the Bois d'Amour (eco-friendly refreshment bar / snack bar) and its panoramic platforms on the lake, in short, very beautiful to end this walk!

Tips and Suggestions: 
From May 1 to the end of September, the Grange Dîmière is open, contemporary art exhibitions are scheduled, admission is free. In Charavines, take advantage of the free municipal beach 100 meters from the Tourist Office and small local shops for your supplies. The Natura Vélo mountain bike/Cyclo school (opposite the Tourist Office) offers mountain bike hire, support and sales.
