The Belle Via crosses four departments: Haute-Savoie, Savoie, Isère and Drôme.
One route, two entry points
225 km on La Belle Via de Chanaz in Valence
280 km on La Belle Via from La Balme-de-Sillingy to Valence

La Belle Via is a large-format cycle route that runs through Haute-Savoie, Savoie, Isère and Drôme. It is an easy route, accessible to as many people as possible in the heart of wide alpine valleys with beautiful views of Mont Blanc and, successively in the background, the massifs of Jura, Bauges, Chartreuse, Belledonne and Vercors . It is also an exotic experience with a beautiful diversity of atmospheres and landscapes between lakes, orchards, towns and countryside. With, along the way, numerous possibilities to stop for a swim on the beaches of the Annecy or Bourget lakes, cultural or gastronomic discoveries and beautiful escapes along the water along the Isère river. A loop is possible by joining ViaRhôna.

Topo/step by step:
● Length of the Belle Via depending on the section chosen: ○ From Chanaz – 215 km to Pont de l’Isère and 225 km to Valence ○ From La Balme de Sillingy – 270 km to Pont de l’Isère Isère and 280 km to Valence ● Duration: between 4 and 8 days depending on the stages defined and your pedaling pace ● Level of difficulty: easy, the route has little difference in altitude except a few climbs when you leave the bed of the Isère For a shorter route, the Tour des Bauges by bike is a loop which takes the sections of La Belle Via, from Aix les Bains to Annecy via Chambéry, Montmélian, Albertville with a TER return to Aix les Bains.

Tips and Suggestions:
La Belle Via connects to the ViaRhôna EuroVelo 17 route to the north, at Chanaz, and to the south, at Pont de l'Isère. It is therefore possible to imagine a loop roaming between ViaRhôna and La Belle Via: from Valence, Chanaz and ultimately Seyssel.
