Heritage Days in the Voiron Region

Every year, the European Heritage Days are the unmissable cultural event, taking place on the third weekend of September! It's the perfect opportunity to discover, often for free, the heritage close to home or to enjoy a cultural break. Between the diversity of sites (castles, museums, churches, unusual places, etc.) and activities (exhibitions, guided tours, treasure hunts, concerts, etc.), the program is rich and varied 😉

For the 43rd edition of the European Heritage Days, in 2026, two themes are being highlighted: "Heritage of photography" and "Heritage in peril: revive, resist, reimagine".

In Isère, the focus is on water-related heritage, echoing the cultural season "Water, What a Story!", which is also dedicated to heritage at risk. This event invites us to take a fresh look at the treasures that shape the French regions… and at the women and men who work every day to preserve them. Climate change, peak visitor numbers, and the fragility of 20th-century heritage: throughout France, monuments, gardens, archives, and landscapes require constant attention.
