Loop
à Saint-Geoire-en-Valdaine

N°52 : Boucle du Baracuchet

Course without technical difficulties but with a mileage and an elevation for experienced trailers.
A course that begins gently to warm up along the mill canal, before tackling the climb to Lake Saint-Sixte. Then the loop around Mount Baracuchet takes you to the Carthusian pond. Then you descend to the village of Saint-Geoire-en-Valdaine.

Expert's word

Julia Combe, in charge of communications for the On Piste application at Rossignol and a resident of Pays Voironnais, appreciates the numerous (and varied) trail routes offered in the region.
Julia: “My favorite is the Valdaine area with the Baracuchet route n°22. A quiet area, less known but ideal for trail running with hilly terrain and a beautiful alternation of passages in the woods and viewpoints over the Chartreuse mountains.
I particularly like the spots at St Sixte lake and Chartreux pond for their sometimes mystical atmosphere, but also those of the Grands Bois, from Grand Vivier to the Col du Bret pass, all the way to below Mont Baracuchet.”
