Le tour du lac de Paladru
At the start of the circuit, opposite the Tourist Office, you'll find a free tire inflation station at the Natura Vélo rental shop. The Tourist Office is certified as a "Bike Friendly" establishment.
This great tour of Lac de Paladru special electric bicycle, is offered from Charavines. Rich in heritage discoveries, it offers remarkable views and allows you to walk along the lake on its eastern shore.

Starting from Charavines, the first few pedal strokes of this route will quickly take you to the Bois d'Amour (Lovers' Wood), where you can fully enjoy a path through the undergrowth along the lake. If you feel like it, take a short break to contemplate the view from the platform you'll find at the bottom of the descent, and perhaps you'll catch a glimpse of the beautiful great crested grebe before its dive…
Continue along the path and then onto the greenway, safely all the way to the hamlet of La Véronnière, where the rest area of the same name offers the perfect spot for a picnic. Or continue a little further along the greenway before leaving it and taking the road back to Saint-Pierre de Paladru, where you will cross the Courbon, one of the two tributaries of the lake, which joins it at the La Véronnière marsh.
A climb awaits you next, leading you to the heights of St-Pierre de Paladru where the panorama unfolds. Take a break to admire Mont Blanc and the Bauges, Chartreuse and Belledonne mountain ranges.
The rest of the route takes you, passing along the Vivier pond, to the village of Valencogne which you will cross to finally reach the bucolic valley of the Pin stream.
You then cross the village of Le Pin, where you can stop for a coffee or bakery, then the hamlet of Chassigneux to the famous Grange Dîmière.
This former dependency of the Carthusian monastery of La Sylve Bénite dates from 1655 and is today an ideal setting for staging exhibitions of contemporary ceramic sculptures each summer.
After a short climb towards the former Carthusian monastery of La Sylve Bénite, the route continues on a comfortable dirt path, until the departmental road which we invite you to cross carefully.
You will reach the Oyeu plateau at the place called Le Verney, before descending back to Charavines via a hairpin bend and crossing the wooded valley of Combettes.
Upon your return to the starting point, take advantage of the many shops, services and restaurants to extend this beautiful walk!
From May 1st to the end of September, the Grange Dîmière is open, contemporary art exhibitions are programmed, and admission is free.
