La Grande Chartreuse, founded by Saint Bruno in 1084, is an unmissable destination. If the monastery remains a place of prayer, the museum enlightens you on the life of the monks withdrawn in solitude and silence.

Living in solitude and in silence, the Carthusians cannot open their monastery to visitors. But what is their story? How does a Carthusian live today?

The Correrie de la Grande Chartreuse, museum of France, former place of life of the Carthusian brothers, is dedicated to testifying to their life and their history through a renewed scenography “Chartreux, silent watchers”.
