Come discover this documentary on Alice Milliat and the beginnings of women's sport through archive images and current images. And for the more enduring, a cinema quiz around films on sport and the Olympic Games is offered at 18:30 p.m.!
A little over a century ago, running, jumping as high as possible or kicking a ball were reserved for men. Before a French woman named Alice Milliat came to change everything.
Between the two wars, under his leadership, sports women wanted to join men in the Olympic Games but came up against the sexist ideas of their creator: Pierre de Coubertin.
This film is the story of Alice Milliat, and of all the sports women who fought for their rights.
It is part of the “Generation 2024” program that Paris 2024 offers to schools in connection with the Olympic Games.
What a long way we have come, since Paris 2024 will be the first Olympic and Paralympic Games in which women's participation is at 50%.
In partnership with the Foundation and the Alice Milliat association, a representative of which will come to speak with the public after the film.
A cinema quiz is offered at 18:30 p.m. to have fun and compete around films on sport and the Olympics. A snack will be offered to you to follow the two events. On your marks... !
