Culture
Museum of the history of galoshes Château de Virieu, 38730 Val-de-Virieu
Identical reconstruction of a wooden sole and galosh manufacturer's workshop.
The only museum in France devoted exclusively to the history of galoshes. A cousin of the clog, the galosh has a notable difference: the clog is entirely cut from a piece of wood, while the galosh is made up of a wooden sole to which a leather upper is nailed. The museum presents several workshops: making wooden soles, galoshes and rubber milk soles.
