The unmissable Domaine St Jean de Chépy Symposium returns for a 16th edition. Ten days of residency for three artists who will create new works in situ at the Domaine Saint Jean de Chépy for this 2024 Symposium!

Three guest artists: Nathan Willerval for the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, Christian Armandy for France and Véronique Roland for abroad (Belgium).
Ten days of residency for three artists who will create new works in situ at the Domaine Saint Jean de Chépy for this 2024 Symposium! Come discover their work and chat with them during this creative time. Walk peacefully along the paths of the park to discover the Song of Sculptures, a collection of 80 contemporary art sculptures, to be admired in a 10 hectare green setting. The opening of the 2024 Sculpture Symposium in the presence of the artists and friendship pot will take place on Thursday April 25 from 18:30 p.m.

From February 13, 2024, the Domaine will host monumental works on deposit which will enrich this 2024 edition, thanks to the continuation of the ten-year Ré si do project in partnership with ArtLabCity, an association which offers monumental sculpture in public spaces in Occitanie and Provence-Alpes Côte-d’Azur. Thus, alongside the work of François Weil and Vincent Gontier inaugurated last summer, we will welcome pieces by Dominique Coutelle (France), Bob Van der Auwera (Belgium), Maurice Hache (Belgium) and Vanessa Notley (UK). The Sculpture Symposium is also an opportunity to discover the Domaine Saint Jean de Chépy through guided tours of the Domaine and the Chant des sculptures, on Wednesdays April 17 and 24 at 21 p.m.
Welcome by the owner of the Estate or the president of the ChépyTerra association and guided tours carried out by a tour guide. These last 2 hours and include three themes:

History: Fortified house from the 1609th century - remodeling in the XNUMXth century, orangery from the XNUMXth century, celestial vault (mural painted as a Historic Monument of XNUMX), Beylier turbine from the XNUMXth century still in operation.
Art: Chant des sculptures, collection of 83 contemporary art sculptures exhibited in the open air, in the estate's 10 hectare park.
Environment: site classified in 2014 as a Biodiversity Refuge by the Bird Protection League, sustainable reforestation of the park and adaptation to climate change, pond, footbridges, apiary, orchard, insect hotel, honey arboretum, nest boxes, feeders, etc.
