Walking

A beautiful hike through woods, clearings, and bodies of water. Varied landscapes and a peaceful atmosphere await you.

Discover a bucolic loop starting from the hamlet of Saint Sixte. The route first takes you along the charming Saint Sixte Lake, nestled in dense vegetation, offering a peaceful and refreshing view in any season.

On your way back to the hamlet, you'll see the modest Romanesque crypt, built on the remains of an ancient 4th-century Roman temple. Protected behind a gate, it is inaccessible, but its mysterious presence invites contemplation: according to legend, women used to come here to rub their stomachs against the columns in the hope of becoming pregnant.

The route crosses various natural areas (La Davière, La Mérie), taking you to Massieu, one of the oldest villages in Valdaine.

Further information : Shops near the station Sheltered by steep hillsides and abundant vegetation, the Val de Fure is a natural area sheltered from the heat. Consider waterproof shoes or avoid this tour after rainy weather.
