The Marais de la Véronnière, Sensitive Natural Area, is located at the northern end of Lac de Paladru, it is a true vital annex to the lake. It is made up of a mosaic of wooded areas (alder groves along the Courbon and willow groves along the lake).

Discover this Sensitive Natural Area along a 1 km route marked out by 4 stations to discover the remarkable flora and fauna of the site.

Located upstream of the lake, at the point of supply by the Courbon stream and several sources, the marsh is the only significant riparian wetland of the water body. It plays a vital functional role in hydrology (regulation, water purification) and in the reception and feeding capacity for migrating and nesting avifauna and for fish populations (pike, roach).
It constitutes a transition zone between the agricultural valley and the aquatic environment of full water and brings to the landscape quality of this large alpine lake an original wild tone which reinforces the image of its great archaeological sites.
The marsh areas are also home to a remarkable heritage flora.
